Celebrate Onam at Bain School on August 15

M alayala Manorama Onam celebrations ‘Thiruona Sangamam 2010' will be held on August 15 at the Bain School Auditorium, No. 17, Balfour Road, Kilpauk. The celebrations will start at 8.30 a.m. with a Pookkalam contest. There will be more than 80 teams contesting for the rolling trophy instituted by Malayala Manorama .

The food court will be run by culinary expert Reena Paul. Reena will fly in experts from Kerala to prepare delicacies specific to different regions of the State. The highlights are Malabar Station (mutton and chicken biriyani, ghee rice, pathiri and chicken curry), Travancore Station (appam, stew, puttu, kadala curry, kappa, meen curry and karimeen), Live Dosa Counter, Thattu Kada, Payasam Counters (palada, adapradhaman, nendram payasam, parippu payasam), Tandoori and Chat counters.

A spot cookery contest is open to all those who would like to flaunt their cooking skills. There's a variety of games too. To complete the Kerala ambience, there will be stalls selling Kerala attire, masalas, sweets and savouries. Food and games coupons will be sold at the venue. For assistance, call 90037 70006.
