Festival at Kamakshi temple

Brahmotsavam begins at the Sri Kamakshi temple, Kanchipuram, on February 15 with Dwajarohanam to the accompaniment of Veda parayanam. The decorated utsava murti of Sri Ambal on different mounts – mooshikam, rishabam, deer, lion, elephant, etc., - will be taken in a procession in the evening on all the days.

Cultural programmes, fireworks and annadanam are the other aspects of the festival. The curtain will come down on February 27, with Viswarupa darshan 5-7 a.m.
