Young dancer makes a mark.

Lalitha Sindhuri a second year B. Tech student from Rajahmundry is going places. She's given over 250 performances across the country and won several awards and laurels so far. She won ‘Bala Ratna' award from the state government and ‘Bala Sri' from the President of India.

“That was possible only with my Guruji Sri Vedantam Satya Narasimha Sastry's efforts. He still comes to my place (Dowleswaram on the outskirts of Rajahmundry) from Kuchipudi village in Krishna district to teach dance to me once in a week,” says Lalitha.

Her latest performance ‘Bhashotsava Sabha', where she impressed the audience with her ‘Navarasabhinayam' in Annamayya keertana Vachenu Alamelumanga.

When asked about her favourite dance ballet, Lalitha says, “Goddess Parvati's character in Girija Kalyanam' dance ballet is my most favourite one, but ‘Vachenu Alamelumanga' will give scope to expose my talent in dance.”

An active participant in all competitions, Lalitha participated in Kothagudem Balotsav as child dancer and won more than 135 All Round Best Performance awards in different parts of the state.
