“A techie named Ajayan (Fahadh Faasil) is an active blogger, who writes under the pseudonym, ‘Olipporali’. He delves deep into issues that affects society and has definite opinions about how to deal with these issues. As time goes by, he becomes part of a group of like-minded bloggers. They decide to organise a show in Bangalore but Ajayan goes missing during the final rehearsal. Ajayan’s life beyond the virtual world is gradually revealed as his friends go on a search for him,” says debutant director A. V. Sasidharan about the storyline of Olipporu .
Subhiksha plays the heroine, Vani, and Kalabhavan Mani dons the important role of Kumaran. Aju Varghese, Arafat, Deepak and Basil are the bloggers, writing under fictitious names such as ‘Gear’, ‘Brake’, ‘Clutch’ and ‘Pachakkuthira’.
Meanwhile, Fahadh has turned singer as well with the film. “Well, it’s more like a recitation…”, clarifies Fahadh, with a laugh, adding that he has been excited about the project, ever since he read the script.
Bridge between life and death
“Fahadh succeeded in getting into the psyche of the character who is negotiating a narrow bridge that separates life and death. The storyline has been set in the present day but the protagonist is trying to address the issues of earlier generations as well,” says the director.
Poet P.N. Gopi Krishnan’s script was inspired by one of his virtual friends, a blogger.
Olipporu is being produced under the banner of Round Up Cinema. Manoj Mundayat wields the camera, while John P. Varkey scores the music.
