K.V. Ramani, the Chennai-based philanthropist, industrialist and co-founder and past chairman of NASSCOM (The National Association of Software and Services Companies), recently received an award from Prime Minister Narendra Modi at NASSCOM’s silver jubilee celebrations held in New Delhi. The award was for ‘founding NASSCOM, taking it from 10 billion to 100 billion+ and putting India on the Global IT Map.’
Interestingly, Ramani, who founded the Chennai-based Future Software and also co-founded Hughes Software in Delhi, has been donating 80 per cent of his earnings to the Shirdi Sai Trust. In fact, this ardent Sai devotee recently helped build a Sai ashram at the cost of Rs. 110 crores and handed it over to Sri Saibaba Sansthan, Shirdi.
