'Madraspatinam Photo Archive' at Citi Centre

A photograph, of a biplane brought to Madras in August 1930 to offer flying demonstrations to the public, that will form part of the display at the ‘Madraspatinam Photo Archive’ exhibition.

'Madraspatinam Photo Archive', an exhibition of a special collection of photographs from the archives of The Hindu , got under way at Chennai Citi Centre on Friday.

The exhibition, being organised as part of the 'Madras Week' celebrations, offers an insight into the developmental phases of Chennai. Photographs dating back to 1920 will form part of the display.

The exhibition will feature pictures of Madras, tram, carts, Esplanade, Central Railway Station, and visits of national leaders, including Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru. Some of the photographs that captured defining moments of political history will also be on display.

The exhibition will be on till August 22. Chennai Citi Centre is the venue partner, Chennai Live the radio partner and NDTVHindu the channel partner.
