Sheffield Hallam University, U.K., has announced its November 2013 intake. This intake is open for three computing courses following the September admission that includes M.Sc. Information Technology Professional, M.Sc. Database Professional and M.Sc. Enterprise Systems Professional.

The above courses will include an industrial expertise module for the students that will facilitate a better work experience by assigning them into groups to undertake a project for an external client and thereby undergo varied phases of work environment as a professional in the IT Industry.

The application form for the November 2013 intake can be obtained from Sheffield Hallam University's South Asia office in Delhi. Email: india@shu.ac.uk. The last date for submission of the application form is October 15.

One-year master’s

Dublin City University offers one-year master’s programmes and, applications are now available for the same. The courses offered are: Telecommunications Engineering and Electronic Systems. These programmes cost €14,400. Entry requirements: at least 65 per cent from a recognised Indian university or Institute of Technology (equivalent to a first class from that institution). Training session on investments

The Department of Management Studies & Research Centre, B.M.S. College of Engineering, Bangalore, will be conducting a two-day training session on ‘Smart Ways to Invest’. This will be held at the campus at Bull temple Road on September 21 and 22.

The aim of this programme is to provide an insight into the capital market and understand simple, yet efficient techniques to tackle the bullish and bearish trends of the stock market. The highlight of the training will be a special mock session on online trading provided by a leading financial institution.

The course is divided into four segments spread over two days. The basics will cover an introduction to the capital market as well as the primary and secondary ones. It will introduce various investment avenues and look at stock market indicators. It will also deal with trading, clearing and settlement.
