The Hindu Opportunities is back after a break — this time bigger and better. Focusing exclusively on women, The Hindu Women Opportunities fair 2011 will be venue to 25 reputed recruiters spanning many industries that range from IT to retail to the automobile industry.

Expected to generate upwards of 7500 jobs, the fair offers a wonderful opportunity for women to apply for full-time, part-time, contract-based or assignment-based openings, among other options.

After registration process is over, candidates need to take a printout of their registration acknowledgement, with a unique registration number before meeting their prospective employer. It is advisable to carry at least 30 printouts of one's resume to the Fair. Huge in scale both in terms of the number of participating companies as well as the number of jobs on offer, this event will have something to offer to everyone from a fresh graduate to a professional with over 10 years of experience. The fair will serve as an interactive platform for both the recruiter and the job-seeker. This value addition from The Hindu Opportunities, addresses a need felt by both the industry and the job-seekers.

While some companies will go through the entire process of short-listing, examining and conducting interviews, some will recruit candidates at the fair.

Registration process

Candidates will be asked to register online and all candidates with a minimum of two years' experience will be issued Hall Entry Tickets (HET) by return mail.

The candidates with less than two years of experience will be pre-screened based on the requirements of the participating companies.

HETs will be sent to the candidates only if they fit the requirements of at least one of the participating companies. Entry will be strictly on invitation.

This fair will be held on March 19, between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. at Laity Auditorium, 17, Balfour Road, Kilpauk, (Behind Bains School) Chennai 600010. It will have different entry points based on your level of work experience. Freshers can come in from the Ormes Road entrance of Bains School, while professionals with experience of over two years can walk in from the Balfour Road entrance.
