RASA (Ramana Sunritya Aalaya), a Chennai-based centre for theatre arts and special needs, is starting a long distance teacher training programme on theatre for holistic development (THD).

The one-year course is affiliated to Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University and aims at incorporating different tools of theatre for rehabilitation.

The diploma programme is open to students who have completed Plus Two and the PG diploma programme is for students with an undergraduate degree.

According to Ambika Kameshwar, founder-director of RASA, the course would train students for the holistic development of a special child. “An open attitude towards creativity and human beings are what a candidate needs to enrol in the programme,” said Ms. Kameshwar. Each batch would have 20 students.
