Research scholars under the aegis of Srinivasa Ramanujam Research Forum (SRRF) in GIET, CIET and other colleges under Chaitanya Educational Institutions have come forward in taking up social service activities. The two-year old Forum run by scholars and led by Dr. V. Vijayakumar, Dean, computer and electronics had taken up many activities for the benefit of school-going children in villages near Rajahmundry.
Recently, a team of scholars including Prof. V. V. Krishna, Principal, Chaitanya Institute of Engineering and Technology (CIET) and Dr. V. Anantha Lakshmi, Head of English, Godavari Institute of Engineering and Technology (GIET) visited Devaradigudem, Ramannapalem and Dirisinapalli of Gokavaram mandal and distributed whitepaper note-books, steel plates, pencils, pens and other reading and writing material to primary and upper primary school children. The team also went to a near by high school and distributed note-books to students and assured them that the Forum will provide plates and glasses to students who avail the mid-day meal in school.
When some students requested for uniform, the team of scholars readily agreed to purchase the same and informed the teachers of the school that they would keep their promise and fulfil it during the next trip. Ms. Sujatha, Mr. Marutha Perumal and others participated in this programme.
