The Indo-French CEFIPRA Seminar on ‘Women in Science’ will take place from February 3 to 5, 2015 at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru. The seminar will include plenary sessions with eminent women researchers from India and France, scientific presentations by project researchers of CEFIPRA and a poster session by young researchers.

Young women researchers from India and France can propose research posters in the fields mentioned below. Ph.D. students and first post-doctorate level researchers are invited to submit a poster abstract (not more than 300 words) to indofrenchwomen2015@gmail.com on or before January 9, 2015. The notification for acceptance will be given by January 19, 2015. The top posters will receive an award. A panel discussion on various aspects of women in science will also be held.

The seminar, which is being jointly organised by the French Embassy in India, CEFIPRA and the ‘Women in Science’ panel of the Indian Academy of Sciences, aims at highlighting the scientific contributions and achievements of women principal investigators in collaborative Indo-French projects. The seminar will focus on two broad interdisciplinary fields of research: health and life sciences, and physical and mathematical sciences.

Prior registration is mandatory for attending the seminar. To register, email about your interests and CV to indofrenchwomen2015@gmail.com. For further information, log on to http://www.frenchscienceindia.org/index.php/events-category/227-women-in-science.
