Students vie with one another in reading contest

About 150 students enthusiastically participated in ‘ The Hindu In School Speed Reading Contest’ organised by The Hindu for the NIE enrolled school students.

Sponsored by Roots, an international School of Business and Management, the event was held in juniors (classes 6 to 9) and seniors (classes 10 to 12). It was held with numerical calculators, word search and passage reading with questions to be completed within specified time.

Ms. Jyothi Raja was the judge and Ms. Vanitha Jaiswal of Roots was the chief guest.

Top prizes

The top two prizes in the senior section went to Jasmine Sandhu and Udbhav Rastogi of Army Public School, R.K. Puram. In the juniors section, first prize was bagged by Amina Mohammed of Focus High School while second and third prizes went to P. Pooja of Shantiniketan Vidyalaya, Shamirpet and K. Namitha of The Mother’s Integral School, Nallakunta . Consolation prizes went to Awantika Yash, Nikhil.V and A. Jayanth.

Lotus Chocolates and Lotus Milk products were the co-sponsors.
