The creativity of young students came to the fore at INSPIRE (Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research) programme on Wednesday. It was organised at Holy Cross Girls Higher Secondary School here under the aegis of the Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology.
A total of 53 students from Standard VI six to XI from various schools across the district displayed their innovative talents through models at the exhibition here.
Models of remote sensing in automobile sector, benefits of integrated farming and other models of science and technology were displayed.
G. Lakshmanan, Professor and Head, Postgraduate Department of Zoology, Aditanar College of Arts and Science, Tiruchendur, appealed to students to observe the nature and think scientifically to develop their own and innovative ideas. With the creation of innovative ideas, revolutionary changes could be achieved globally. It was through observations and findings, Gregor Mendel became the father of Genetics.
S. Ramasamy Headmaster, Government Higher Secondary School, Umarikadu, and Coordinator of the programme, proposed a vote of thanks.
