SBOA School and Junior College won the city finals of the Limca Book of Records Quiz 2010 held here on Thursday. The winning team, comprising T.S. Gokul and N. Sooraj, will be among the 80 schools that would compete in the semi-finals.

Out of the 46 school teams that participated in the quiz, six made it to the city finals, held at Asan Memorial Senior Secondary School. Teams from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Gill Nagar and Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan Senior Secondary School, K.K. Nagar took the second and third place respectively.

The six finalists as well as the crowd kept up the momentum through the programme, in which the quiz master Fatema Marfatia posed well-thought-out questions.

The theme of the rounds was based on the “things we all love to do or be”, such as gaming, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter . The research and content of the quiz was contributed by ‘Know & Grow with Derek', a firm founded by quiz master Derek O'Brien. The competitions would be on till December, with the top 10 teams in the semi-final round competing in the national final.
