Along with enhancing the remuneration package for social science researchers, the HRD Ministry has also increased the number of fellowships being handed out. For ICHR, the number of JFR has been increased from 190 to 270, General Fellowship from 30 to 40, and Senior Fellowship from 10 to 20. Three National Fellowships have also been created.
For ICSSR, the number of JFR has been increased from 133 to 483, General Fellowship, 105 to 280, Senior Fellowship, 26 to 91 and National Fellowship, 10 to 20. For ICPR, the number of JFR has been increased from 60 to 120, General Fellowship,15 to 30, Senior Fellowship, four to eight, and National Fellowship, from two to four.
