New Indian school to open in Abu Dhabi

August 10, 2010 02:52 pm | Updated 03:04 pm IST - Dubai

Shortage of seats in Indian schools in Abu Dhabi is set to ease next month with the opening of a new school in the city.

The Private International English School will open for admissions coming Sunday for up to 1,000 children, as part of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan school network.

The classes for children in kindergarten and grades one to four will start from September 19.

The opening of the new school follows an appeal by the Indian Embassy, which asked the Abu Dhabi government to intervene after thousands of children were left without seats.

More Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan schools in Sharjah and Dubai are also planned, apart from others in Bahrain and Doha.
