The energy sector is facing some profound changes due to factors such as climate change and environmental issues, changing patterns of viability in exploration and development, fragmentation of the value chain and the diversification of activities within organisations. Studying on this AMBA accredited course also provides students with the opportunity to meet a diverse group of students from around the world.

This should include some management responsibility of people, resources, projects or finance. All international students, for whom English is not their first language, must provide evidence of linguistic ability, by gaining either IELTS 6.5 or its equivalent in TOEFL prior to receiving an unconditional offer of a place on the course. If you do not have a first degree but have five years or more senior management experience you may be considered.

Yes, the student should have a technical background in engineering or the sciences.

What is the scope for jobs in the energy sector?

In Aberdeen, excellent companies are recruiting hundreds of staff in both the technical and managerial fields. There is a shortage of managerially qualified people and so our graduates are highly sought after. Moreover, the Scottish Government is actively seeking to develop other energy sources so there are big developments taking place in wind technology etc.
