Swami Vivekananda Single Girl Child Scholarship in Social Science To promote girls education, UGC has introduced this scholarship in social sciences with an aim to compensate direct costs of higher education, especially for girls who happen to be the only girl child in their family. Eligibility: A single girl student who has taken admission in regular, full-time Ph.D. programme in social sciences with maximum age of 40 years (general) and 45 years (SC/ST/OBC/PD). Application: Online Prizes and rewards: 300 scholarship seats; Rs. 12,400 per month for first two years. Thereafter, Rs. 15,500 per month for third and fourth year. HDFC Educational Crisis Scholarship Support To provide interim support to children facing a personal/economic crisis. Eligibility: Class VI to XII, diploma, graduates, postgraduate students. Vishwa Konkani Student Scholarship This is a merit-cum-means-based scholarship for supporting higher education of Konkani students for their bachelor’s or master’s degree. Scholarship for studying abroad is also offered to students. Eligibility: Students with Konkani language as their mother tongue and who are in their first year can apply. Family annual income should not be more than Rs. 4.5 lakh. Application: Online Prizes and rewards: Rs. 30,000 for engineering and Rs. 40,000 for MBBS per year per student.
