GRI student selected to do research on transgenders in Dublin

Deena Joseph, a research student of Gandhigram Rural Institute, has been selected to undertake higher research at the University College of Dublin, Ireland, under a Ph. D. exchange programme with EU universities.

According to a GRI press release issued here on Tuesday, the scholar has been doing research on ‘Social exclusion of transgender’ in the Centre for Study of Social Exclusive and Inclusive Policy in the GRI. She will carry out higher research for nine months in the University College of Dublin, with a fellowship of Euro 1,500 per month.

She is one among the 10 candidates selected by the University College of Dublin from its partner universities in India.

Ms. Deena was chosen on the basis of her performance in International English Language Testing System (IELT) and on the merit of the project.
