As engineering admissions under single window system begins on July 13, above is the list of self-financing engineering colleges that have been sent show cause notices by a two-member committee appointed by the State government to look into charges of excess fee collection in Tamil Nadu. The committee inspected 76 private engineering colleges between August 2011 and April 2012.
Meanwhile, the higher education department is contemplating expanding the scope of this committee to include other professional courses.
Will Government take any sort of action in these colleges since they collect the extra fees now also for students from Anna University counseling mentioned to pay 32500 but asks addition of 17500 as extra fees which is not mentioned in bill.
