The last two and a half years have been nothing but exciting and enlightening — meeting CEOs of innovative companies, dining with ambassadors and sharing experiences with friends from across the world; all this because I got the opportunity to pursue and eventually complete the CEMS Masters in International Management. The CEMS MIM places a huge importance on making students corporate-ready by imparting the necessary practical skills needed to succeed in a competitive world. As an alliance that boasts of 29 leading universities from across the world, I chose to pursue the programme with the University of Economics, Prague, in the Czech Republic.
Through the programme, I managed to spend an exchange semester abroad at Copenhagen Business School besides attending some inspiring conferences in Norway and Hungary. With the support of over 70+ corporations, there is no dearth of opportunity while being a CEMSie! The programme has a rigorous selection process and expects candidates to have top grades from previous university studies, fluency in at least three languages (which includes your mother tongue, English and another international language) and an impressive performance at the day-long assessment that takes place in the beautiful city of Prague.
Celebrate self-developmentThe University of Economics is one of the leading universities in the CEE region and boasts of impeccable facilities, practical approach to courses and tons of opportunities for self-development. The university is located in the city centre and the historic old-town square is only a few minutes away. It can be conveniently reached by foot or public transport.
The university comprises several facilities including modern classrooms and auditoriums, well-equipped library, fitness/sport facilities, friendly university staff and awesome professors who are all willing to help at any cost. The university also has student dormitories which are convenient and very affordable.
There are several student associations attached with the university, including the local CEMS Club which I had the opportunity to be part of. These associations organise several events and workshops that provide the opportunity to learn and have fun with people from around the world.
Explore PragueAs a place that occupies a very important place in history and culture, Prague is a city that you can imagine reading about in fables. A city that never sleeps, there are so many things to see and do in Prague which nestles right at the heart of Europe. With many attractions and events happening across the year, you can enjoy all the four seasons in this majestic city which provides you with opportunities for weekend getaways to other capitals such as Vienna and Bratislava.
I recall my time as a CEMSie, as it comes to an end, with my graduation ceremony scheduled to take place in Russia later this year.
