Cell research and diagnostics Jamia Hamdard University and BD Biosciences, a leading global medical technology company have announced FACSTM e-LEARN – a joint online learning programme in cell research and diagnostics for young scientists and researchers.

The programme is designed for professionals who are already in a job or in regular academics. The web module and e-mail support programme will be followed by a hands-on experience on Flow Cytometry instruments and applications.

The web-based learning course will start from 15 July 2014 and 5-day contact programme inclusive of evaluation and examination will be held between November 17 and December 19. Online application commences on June 2, and completed application forms will be received till the last week of June 2014

Courses in filmmaking Admissions are open for the August 2014 batch at Mindscreen Film Institute. Courses on offer are a six-month course on cinematography and six-month course on screenwriting and film making, both commencing in August.

Thapar Varsity admission Thapar University invites applications for the following courses: ME, MTech, MSc, MCA and MBA (at LM Thapar School of Management, Dera Bassi). Admission to all the ME and MTech programmes shall be made on the basis of valid GATE score in the respective disciplines. First preference will be given to GATE-qualified candidates. After offering seats to the GATE-qualified candidates, for seats remaining vacant (if any), admission will be on the merit of the entrance test to be conducted by the university across India, and only those candidates who have a minimum of 20 per cent (15 per cent for SC/ST candidates) in the entrance test shall be considered for admission.

Admission to the ME/MTech programmes will be open to a candidate who obtains at least 60 per cent (55 per cent for SC/ST candidates) marks in the aggregate in the qualifying examination from a recognised university. To apply, candidates can visit >www.thapar.edu and fill the online application form.

They can either pay the application fee of Rs. 1,500 online (Rs. 1,000 for MSc and MBA) or through a DD in favour of ‘The Registrar, Thapar University’, payable at Patiala. Last date for applying is June 4.
