MA in Global Political Communication The Department of Social Sciences at the U.K.’s Loughborough University has launched an MA in Global Political Communication and is inviting applications for this programme.

The one-year course focuses on political communication in a fast changing global context, looking at the development of message production, transmission, and reception across nations, as well as the key theories, themes and controversies that lie at the heart of the academic study of political communication.

The degree will be relevant to anyone who is interested in politics, international relations and political communication and to those with an interest in a range of careers which are politically related. The modules of the course include: Global Communications, The Politics of Representation, Marketing Politics and Production and Reception Analysis. In addition to these, students can choose from optional modules such as Media and Modernity, Media and Cultural Industries, Citizenship and Communications, and Media, Nations and Nationalisms.

Candidates wishing to apply for the course should have a good upper second class honours degree (a minimum of 60 per cent) in the social sciences or humanities, but applicants with appropriate professional expertise will also be considered. The course begins in October, 2014 and students are advised to apply by March, 2014. The fee structure for the course is £13,750.

Graduate School Scholarships of 25 per cent of fee costs and Departmental Scholarships of 20 per cent of fee costs are available for outstanding applicants.

Admissions at Azim Premji University The Azim Premji University announces admissions to its master’s programmes in education and in development. The last date for receiving completed applications is February 7, 2014.

Selection is based on a national entrance test which will be held at 34 centres across India on February 16, 2014 followed by personal interviews in March, 2014.

MA in education: curriculum and pedagogy, early childhood education, and school leadership and management.

MA in development: health and nutrition, law and governance, livelihoods, public policy and sustainability.

MAAC launches scholarship Maya Academy of Advanced Cinema (MAAC) has launched scholarships for young creative students interested in pursuing a career in animation, multimedia, gaming and visual effects.

Students need to undertake a test at MAAC centres in Anna Nagar and T Nagar Chennai.

Students will be eligible for scholarship on the basis of the scores, The scholarship carnival is effective till December 31.
