For the first time The Hindu will hold an education fair in Dubai where information will be made available to parents and students seeking admissions to reputed business schools, medical and engineering colleges in India and other parts of the world. January 18 (11.30 a.m. to 8.30 p.m.) and January 19 (9 a.m. to 8 p.m.) will witness the coming together of several institutes of higher learning at The Hindu India Education Fair 2014 at Hotel Movenpick, Bur Dubai, Dubai. This pioneering endeavour will be a one-stop destination that caters to the needs of young expats in Dubai.

Why Dubai

The sizeable Indian population that is constantly looking out for quality education at affordable cost should find a fair of this magnitude worthwhile. The two-day event will offer a wide platform for institutions around the world to come face to face with their potential clientele, the students.

It is a purposeful rendezvous where effective resources meet young minds that are waiting to be channelled towards a successful future!

The mindset of Indian parents in Dubai seems clear – sending their wards to highly rated academic centres for higher studies is their primary aim. And when this is offered at a manageable cost they are bound to make a beeline for it.

Also, certain Indian institutions such as, Manipal University and BITS Pilani, have campuses in Dubai’s Academic City, and could thus strike a familiar chord with the Indian students who wish to explore other campuses in India too. The education fair is expected to be accessed by more than 10,000 students in the U.A.E. And the fact that representatives of distance education, deemed universities and institutions offering courses in hotel management and catering technology and other such in India, have been invited to be present for face-to-face interactions should kindle the interest of the target audience.

As we herald the opening of The Hindu India Education Fair 2014 , in Dubai, the five-star venue — Hotel Movenpick in Bur Dubai — begins to bustle with activity of the scholastic kind.
