The University of Warwick exceeded my expectations. The course on cyber security and management was challenging, but the professors were experienced and made sure that the lectures laid the required structure and foundation. This helped me tackle various challenges.
One of the most unique aspects of the course was the series of guest lectures during each module in the course by high profile professionals from companies such as IBM, Kaspersky and Nettitude.
Interacting with experts
My professors were very keen to get us to publish a paper during our course and I got an opportunity to present a paper on cyber security at Cyber Security for the Next Generation Conference (European Round) organised by the Kaspersky Academy. It was more than just a dream. For me, it was not just about presenting a paper, but presenting it in one of the best conferences in the world that made the difference. This conference allowed me to interface and engage directly with cyber security experts from both industry and academia. This journey gave me a bigger range of ideas I can draw upon. Overall, my experience at the University of Warwick was amazing.
The U.K. has been involved in a lot of cutting-edge cyber security research in recent years and leads the way worldwide in this area. Recently, cyber security has become a university course in few select elite universities in the U.K. such as the Russell Group. The Russell Group represents the leading U.K. universities which are committed to maintaining the highest levels of academic excellence in both teaching and research. If you are about to make a decision to study a course in the U.K., then try to be sure to get into the best university possible as this will set the stage for an excellent academic and professional journey.
