Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa Mahavidyalaya (SCSVMV) University, Kanchipuram, has been accredited B grade status by the NAAC. The institution bagged the deemed university status in 1993.

The emphasis on value education, affordable fee structure, adequate academic infrastructure and local community support have been listed as points of strength in the NAAC report with a 2.53 accumulative grade point.

The university waited to apply for accreditation, after developing infrastructure to match the expected standards, said Ramana Kumar, dean, Faculty of Management Studies. The university offers courses in engineering, computer applications, management, ayurveda and Sanskrit.
