Award for MCC principal
The principal of Madras Christian College, Dr. R. W. Alexander Jesudasan, was recently conferred the “Maxin Gorky Life Time Acheivement Award” for his contribution to education. Mikhail Gorbatov, director, The Indo-Russian International Arts and Science Association, Russian Centre of Science and Culture, presented the award at a function.
Film appreciation
The department of Visual Communication, Vaishnav College, Arumbakkam, is conducting a week long Film Appreciation Course , from September 23-26. The programme deals with different aspects of cinema. Eminent personalities from the industry will handle the sessions.
Student wins scholarship
The Richard E. Merwin scholarship from IEEE Computer Society was awarded to Prasanth Mohan a fourth-year Computer Science student from Sri Muthukumaran Institute of Technology, Chennai for exemplary service towards society. He is one of the initiators of the chapter of the IEEE Computer Society at his college. MoU signed
St. Joseph’s College of Engineering and St. Joseph’s Institute of Technology signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vero Software Pvt. Ltd., U.K. recently. Walter Wade, international sales manager of the company, visited the college along with his team of delegates.
The MoU will provide value-added courses to the students of both the institutions in their respective campuses.
