XLRI’s Global MBA programme

A global MBA programme, launched in partnership by three leading management institutions in the world — XLRI, Jamshedpur; Weatherhead School of Management, Cleveland, U.S. and School of Economics and Management, Tongji University, Shanghai, began in August 2013.

The batch of 50 students from different nationalities will come to India in January, 2014 for the second semester.

On successful completion of the MBA programme, students of each nationality will receive the degree from their home school along with a certificate awarded jointly by the three partners.

Interested students can also acquire a formal degree or diploma from any one of the foreign schools by completing some additional courses in the respective schools.

MoU with Hitachi

Rajalakshmi Engineering College (REC) has entered into an MoU with Hitachi Solutions India and Valeo India.

The MoU envisages an academia-industry collaboration for training of students in Microsoft Dynamics AX and CRM technical and functional areas. A number of final-year students from the computer science discipline will be provided on-campus training in the core modules of Dynamics AX and CRM by Hitachi Solutions India’s technology/business solutions team.

Further, the arrangement envisages project internship at Hitachi Solutions India, for students undergoing the training.

Sharda University wins

Sharda University was felicitated as Asia’s Most Promising Brand at the Asian Brand and Leadership Summit, 2013, in Dubai on August 27. The Chancellor of the University, P.K. Gupta was given Asia’s Most Promising Leader award in the education category.

Orientation programme at Vel Tech

The inaugural function of the orientation programme, for first-year MBA students of the 2013-15 batch in Vel Tech Institute of Management, was conducted at Vel Murugan Auditorium of Vel Tech University recently.

St. Joseph’s signs MoU with Xervon Gulf, UAE

St. Joseph’s College of Engineering and St. Joseph’s Institute of Technology signed an MoU with Xervon Gulf. This MoU will enable Xervon Gulf to recruit students through campus interviews.

Workshop on Blackberry

The SCSVMV University’s Blackberry Developer Group along with Blackberry organised a two-day hands-on workshop in Kanchipuram recently.

The workshop was aimed at to initiating students into developing applications for the Blackberry Mobile devices.

The workshop introduced students to the BlackBerry 10 Native Software Development Kit and Cascades UI framework.

Developer evangelists from Blackberry, Prakash Sainani and Ranbijay Kumar, conducted 10 sessions. More than 200 students participated.

Technical Symposium

The department of CSE of Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa Mahavidyalaya is conducting its eleventh Annual National Technical Symposium “BIOS2k13 on September 26 and 27.

ENTIME 2013

The department of management studies, Sathyabama University, is conducting the National Conference, ENTIME 2013 - Women Empowerment in Emerging New Trends In Managerial Excellence” on October 25.

The conference sets out to stimulate thought and research work in women empowerment aspects in management.
