Pondicherry Central University (PCU), Puducherry, won the first place in Unisys Cloud 20/20 Version 4.0, one of India’s largest online technical project contests.

The contest participants were required to put theory into practice. Working in teams of four, supported by project guides from Unisys and their institute, the teams showcased live cloud computing projects.

Following several rigorous rounds of evaluation, including technical project submissions, telephone interviews, and remote project demonstrations via video conference, Gaurav Kumar and Kumari Shilpi and their project guide G. Sureshkumar from PCU, were awarded the first prize for their project ‘Criminal Investigation Department, Information and Data Analysis System’. This project involves the management of the voluminous data of the Bihar State Police department, including storage, retrieval, and analysis of the data. The second prize was awarded to the project ‘Corona – Dynamic Allocation and De allocation in Cloud Resource Management’ presented by K. P. Vignesh, M. Rishe Kumar, G. Surendran, and their project guide, G. Raja, from J.J. College of Engineering & Technology, Tiruchi.

The third prize was shared by two teams. ‘The Sheep Model for Secure Inter-Cloud Data Migration Using MaaS’ presented by Ramaseshan S., Mohit Jain A., Lalithkumar M., Selvaganesh C., and their project guide, R.G. Suresh Kumar, from Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering and Technology, Puducherry, shared the third prize with the project ‘Augmenting the Outcomes of SAAS Layer and IAAS Layer in Cloud Environments’ presented by K. Anbukarasi, A. Muganthi, M. Abirami, V. Sasikala, and their project guide, Geetha V. from Pondicherry Engineering College, Puducherry.

The contest organised by Unisys India recognises innovative thinking by students across India in addressing the technical challenges of cloud computing.
