Mindaide in collaboration with ICRDCE conducted Retail Skills Development Convention for over 80 Community Colleges in Chennai last week at the Loyola College premises.

Mindaide Skills Academy, a retail learning and development organisation and ICRDCE, an organisation leading the community college movement in India through over 300 colleges and institutions across the country got together to conduct this event. This programme is created to impart job skills training which would fulfil the job aspirations of youth from the economically weaker sections of society.

This collaboration is expected to cover over 4,000 students of the community colleges in the first phase and could well cover 10, 000 students by September 2014.

The Govrnment of India has recently announced an award of up to Rs. 10, 000 under the Star Scheme, which fully or partially pays for this training in retail skills.

Therefore this Retail Skills Programme would be virtually free of charge for any participant who clears the certification process.
