Meet focuses on soft skills

Shree Institute of Technical Education (SITE), Tirupati, conducted a special seminar recently, in which Palem Srikanth Reddy, Chief Executive Officer of FourSoft Inc. and President of Telugu Software Professionals Division addressed the students on skills needed to conquer the job market.

In tune with the chain of events taking place on the academic and industrial facets across the globe, the engineering and MBA students should equip themselves with the required skills in order to get dovetailed in the right place. “Apart from academic and technical knowledge, intelligence, creativity, courage to excel and communication skills are equally important”, he advised. Mr.Reddy also indicated that qualified students need no longer wait for jobs and could take the entrepreneurial route to set up own units. Looking beyond the academic stuff, students should develop the temper for making the society better, shape a contemporary outlook and social consciousness, he said, asking them to fight against social maladies like corruption, inefficiency, red-tape and the indifference of the average citizen. “Even if you do not enter politics, you should exercise your franchise as you have a duty to protect the country and its resources”, was his tip.

Koduru Balasubrahmanyam, Director of Elite Hospitals, software professionals U.Srinivasa Choudary and Raji Reddy, college Chairman T.Damodaram, Director Anand, placement officer A.Babu Naidu took part.

EAIMS

Emerald’s Advanced Institute of Management Studies (EAIMS) conducted a ‘5K walk’ recently, in association with Carousel, in which over 1000 participated and took a saunter.

Emerald’s Directors K.Viswanath Reddy and Giridhar Reddy formally flagged off the walk at Balaji Colony, from where the participants reached Annamayya Circle through M.R.Palle and the walk culminated at the college campus. The participants ranged from toddlers to senior citizens.

Venkat Tripal Naik of SV Arts College, Sreenivasulu of Emeralds MBA College and Balaji of SVIMS University bagged the first, second and third prize respectively.
