Rajasekharan P. Warrier, who was the Vice-Chancellor of Manipal University for nearly three years, will be returning on Tuesday to join his family in New Orleans in the U.S.

Dr. Warrier told presspersons on the university campus here on Monday that he had enjoyed his tenure as Vice-Chancellor of Manipal University. Although he was returning to the U.S., he still wanted to come back to India after a short period, Dr. Warrier said.

Dr. Warrier initiated several new projects during his tenure as Vice-Chancellor of Manipal University. The simulation lab, the only one of its kind in the county, was his brainchild. The palliative care programme and the volunteers service organisation, launched by him, have become quite popular in a short time. The faculty and other staff of the university bid him farewell on Monday.
