The eighth edition of the international techno-management cultural festival of the College of Engineering, Guindy, Kurukshetra, will be held from January 29 to February 1. The festival has the privilege of being the first student-run organisation to attain the coveted UNESCO patronage.
Luminaries from across the globe will converge at the event to give their guest lectures. Leonardo Chiariglione, founder of MPEG i, will lecture on the evolution of the technology in the entertainment industry.
Dr. Praveen Vettiyattil, CEO of Sharada Solutions will take us through his vision of energy saving technologies. A talk on the developmental aspects of GSLV will be given by Dr.K.Sivan.Getting hands-on
‘Workshops’, are a standard feature of Kurukshetra which enables the students to experience engineering beyond the books.
‘Build it like Baker’, a first of its kind workshop in India, focuses on environment friendly low-cost construction.
The students will get a chance to construct a real structure on the days of the workshop.
‘Live Coding’ provides a unique opportunity of creating music through code.
‘Robo Face’ explores gesture sensing and processing techniques of robots. The workshops will involve a lecture followed by a hands-on session.
XCEED, the nationwide robotics, quizzing and coding championship is Kurukshetra’s marquee event. This year it has successfully been conducted in three major cities across the country.
Interesting exhibits will be on display that fuses technology with creativity. A techno-magic show will be performed by renowned corporate magician from Singapore, Stefan Ebinger. 3D paintings will be drawn on the campus during the event by artist Selva Kumar. An out-of-the world experience will be provided by the Space Trek Mobile planetarium.
Over 35 challenging events on diverse fields of engineering and management will test the students’ mettle in the ultimate battle of the brains.
