Paanchajanya 6.0 - a national-level management and technology meet was conducted by Emeralds School of Business (ESB) last week. Inaugurated by the Director E. Giridhar, the programme had seven events tailored for students from engineering, management and computer applications background. Consultants and directors of various firms in Chennai, Bangalore and Tirupati judged the contestants. Over 700 students from 37 colleges from Karnataka, Rayalaseema and Nellore districts attended. ESB students organised a fashion show ‘Incredible India’, themed on the country’s integrity.

Talk on ‘voting system’
Madanapalle Institute of Technology and Science (MITS) conducted an awareness programme on ‘voting system’ last week. Sub-Collector Narayana Bharat Gupta addressed students on the general disinterest shown by youth on their right to vote in spite of making strides in entrepreneurship, technology, sports and research. “The voter ID card is not just meant to vote, but recognition as an Indian citizen”, he pointed out. Fresher’s Day
‘Fresher’s Day’ was celebrated at Sri Rama Engineering and MBA College, Tirupati last week.
Chairman Mannem Rami Reddy wanted a sense of camaraderie to prevail on the campus and advised the students to avoid hostile overtures. A day with Yandamoori
Personality development trainer Yandamoori Veerendranath conducted a seminar titled ‘A day with Yandamoori’ at JB Institute of PG Courses and MBA (Tirupati) and JBR Techno School (Pichatur) last week.
Dr. Veerendranath advised students to undertake continuous English-speaking to overcome stage fear as well as improve communication. “Smile regularly, read something at bed-time, avoid non-vegetarian food and choose only career-oriented friends”, were some of his tips.

National conference
Chadalawada Ramanamma College of Engineering (CREC) and IIT Delhi jointly conducted a two-day conference on ‘National Network Security Championship-2014’ recently.
About 150 engineering students participated in the event, in which CISCO-certified professionals from the company ‘Network Bulls’ were the resource persons. CREC Chairperson Chadalawada Sucharita spoke on communication security in the current scenario.

SBIT students get plum offers
In pursuit of their ambitious career goals, as many as 72 B.Tech final year students of Swarna Bharathi Institute of Science & Technology (SBIT) secured placements in as many as nine companies including several Infotech firms on the campus recruitment programmes held at the college in Khammam recently.
A total of 51 girl students were among the 72 successful candidates, those who bagged job offers in the campus recruitment drives. The companies that recruited the young techies include Information Technology, Telecom, Electrical and other core firms. Some of them got multiple job offers.
As many as six students received job offers from Tech Mahindra in a recruitment drive conducted by the company at the college here last week, said SBIT correspondent Chava Pratap Babu.
A total of 278 students of the SBIT were recruited by major companies representing IT, Telecom, Financial, Electrical and other core sectors last year. The college has entered into a MoU with Wipro to train the B.Tech final year students in cloud computing.
