Collaboration

An agreement between International Institute of Information Technology-Bangalore (IIIT-B) and Samsung R&D Institute India, Bangalore, was signed to promote academic and research interactions for industry-centric knowledge and skill development. The agreement was signed by S. Sadagopan, Director of IIIT-B, and Jason Dongwon Kwak, Managing Director, SRI-B.

IIIT-B will run educational programmes to meet the human resources development needs of Samsung, leading to specific degrees of the institute through its Work Integrated Learning Programmes.

A release said the educational programmes conducted under this collaborative arrangement will offer the employees of Samsung an opportunity to enhance their academic qualification and synergise theory and practice on a sustained basis so as to be multi-skilled with exposure to upcoming technological areas, thus enabling them to appreciate key concepts and participate better in organisational initiatives, improve their perspective, and provide meaningful insights.

Samsung would make available the necessary infrastructural facilities (such as classrooms with equipment, library facilities, computer and communication facilities with access to electronic mail and Internet) for the smooth conduct of the programmes.

Those admitted to the IIIT programmes under this collaborative arrangement will be treated as IIIT students and will be governed by the fee structure and academic regulations of IIIT and also by the service rules and regulations specified by Samsung.
