CTET on January 29

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi, has invited applications for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET, 2012) to be held on January 29. It is an essential qualification for appointment of teachers from classes I to VIII in any of the schools run by the Union and the State governments or the local self-governments, including Kendriya Vidyalayas and Navodaya Vidyalayas. The test will be conducted by the appropriate government in accordance with the guidelines framed by the National Council for Teacher Education on behalf of the CBSE.

The minimum qualification to take Paper I is a pass in Plus Two or equivalent examinations with at least 50 per cent marks.

Application forms and information bulletins can be had from selected branches of Syndicate Bank till November 25 on payment of Rs.500 (Rs.250 for applicants belonging to the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes and those physically challenged).

The filled applications, along with documents, should be sent to the Assistant Secretary (CTET), Central Board of Secondary Education, Shikshasadan 17, Rouse Avenue, New Delhi – 110 002, so as to reach the addressee on or before November 30.

MBA (agri business)

The College of Agricultural Management under G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, has invited applications for admission to a two-year, full-time MBA (agri business) course. Selection is on the basis of the score in the Common Admission Test (CAT) in 2011, a group discussion, and an interview. Last date: December 31. >www.cabm.ac.in .

The National Council of Educational Research and Training, New Delhi, has invited applications for admission to an international diploma course in guidance and counselling. Last date: November 24. www.ncert.nic.in.

Ph.D programme

The Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing, Kancheepuram, Chennai, has invited applications for admission to a Ph.D. programme.

Advanced computing

The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, Pune, has invited applications for admission to 24-week, full-time advanced postgraduate diploma programmes in advanced computing, wireless and mobile computing, integrated embedded system and VLSI design, IT Infrastructure, systems and security, and advanced computer arts.

The courses will commence in February. Selection is on the basis of a common entrance test to be held on December 7. Last date: November 18. >www.acts.cdac.in
