Regency College of Hotel Management and Catering Technology celebrated the International Chef's day providing star hotel food to the deprived and poor who cannot afford to go and have delicacies in the hotels.
The students and faculty organised a charity lunch at Government School in Vijayanagar Colony, KPHB run for 150 children of primary school. The student chefs and faculty members made the food at site for the children with an elaborate course of menu displayed it as a buffet of a star hotel and served the children. The students also gave away little gestures to all tiny children and showed their love and gratitude. They also donated utility items like soaps, shampoos, and note books stationary, eatables to all the children at the orphanage centre. They also entertained children with various cultural activities and spent their entire day with children.
A day earlier, three eminent Executive Chefs - Sumeet Sood of Taj Banjara, Rakesh Upadhay of The Westin Hyderabad Mind Space and Vishwanathan of Amogh Hotels had an interactive session with students on making of a chef, trends in culinary, sustainable cuisine study and development. The students of third year participated in an inter-college cookery competition conducted by the Catch-P Hyderabad wherein Kiran Jassie and John Sam won second prize in Indian category for Kodagu cuisine.
The students also made posters on International Chef's Day and displayed in the college and the best poster was awarded a prize, said P. Ramesh Kumar Reddy, the college principal.
