It provides full information on competitive/entrance examinations for admissions to various courses.

A large number of students both from rural and urban areas do not have adequate information about opportunities after 10+2 and opt for whatever comes to them, which might not have been their choice. It is here that a handbook titled “Student's FUEL” comes handy and fills the gap to a considerable extent.

This book, which is regularly updated, provides full information on competitive/entrance examinations for admissions to various courses, including medicine, engineering, biotech, armed forces, hotel management and architecture.

FUEL, an acronym for Friends' Union for Energising Lives, took shape when some students of Pune-based Vishwakarma Institutes decided to help the student community through knowledge empowerment.

The organisation has been founded with the core principle of making a difference in the lives of students across the country looking forward to a definite and concrete support to plan their career, say Ankit Kabra and Navalkishor Shinde, Programme Head and Presidents of FUEL Activity Forum, respectively.

Wide reach

So far, it has reached over 50,000 students through more than 110 activities, including workshops, seminars and counselling sessions.

The success has encouraged it to lend its services in backward areas of north Karnataka, starting from Belgaum and Dharwad district from this year onwards, where it started distributing its year-book free of cost to the needy students/institutions.

Since FUEL is a NGO and registered as charitable trust ‘of the students, by the students and for the students,' the funds contributed by donors is fully spent for its various activities.

Ketan Deshpande, the brainchild and founder of FUEL, is planning to prepare a career guidance book on professional and non-professional careers and distribute copies to school and college libraries free of cost soon.
