I am a doctor by profession, currently working in a hospital. I want to pursue a course, without leaving my job, in the area of Medical Ethics. Is there any programme that I can attend on a part-time basis and get to know the subject well? I do not mind a one- or two-year programme.

I have completed PUC second year with 63 per cent marks and I have been working as an assistant in a school. I am interested in pursuing the Bachelor course in Physical Education. Am I eligible? I have been an athlete all through my life.

The eligibility criteria varies for the Bachelor in Physical Education (BPd) (one-year) and Diploma in Physical Education (DPd) (two-years). For the BPd one should have completed graduation with a minimum of 40 per cent marks. Those who have completed Plus 2 (Pre-University) with 50 per cent marks are eligible for the DPd.

One of the oldest and better known institutions in Bangalore is the YMCA College for Physical Education (1958), which has created a niche for itself over a period of time. The YMCA (www.ymcablr.net) conducts the BPd and the DPd programmes, and the sessions commence in August/September of each year.
