Take up B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science or Information Technology. The four-year programme will help you to delve into the world of computers. You should, besides pursuing the graduation programme, pursue short-term certificate programmes which will help you to keep in touch with the current happenings in the world of computers.

Through the internship programme when you will get an opportunity to work for organisations.

I am currently studying in grade 10. I will be giving the ICSE board examinations in February-March, 2016. I plan to take up Commerce for the 11th grade. I do not know whether to choose ISC or CBSE. I want to become a data scientist or a lawyer. I am aware that to become a data scientist one needs computers. ISC does not allow Economics and Computers to be taken in tandem, whilst in CBSE one can. Please guide me further.

It is good to find that you are planning to ensure a good choice for higher studies. Considering that you are in the ICSE stream, continuing into the 11th grade in the ISC pattern will be best suited, even if you are not in a position to consider Economics and Computers to be taken as optional subjects.

Consider this: take up papers as per your choice and as per the norms of the ISC. Even if you are not in a position to pursue computers in the +2 programme, you can do the same through recognised programmes run by various institutions. This will help you to study the subjects of your choice and also specialise in a subject like computers.

In regards to you foraying into the academic discipline of Law, on completion of +2, you should appear for the All India Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) and ensure selection to the top rung Law schools across India.

I am a B.Sc (Computer Science) graduate. I am currently working in assembling PCs and would like to further upgrade my knowledge in that area with short-term/long-term courses. What are my options?
