NSS camp: Anjanappa, principal, Government College for Women, Kolar, has said National Service Scheme camps will help develop a service mindset among students. It will also promote cordial relationship in society. He was presiding over the inauguration of the NSS camp organised by the college at Muduvadi village recently. He called upon girl students to create awareness about hygiene among rural people. Government High School headmistress Gayatri, camp coordinator Rajendra and others were present.

Skill development workshop: Smt. Danamma Chennabasavaiah College of Arts, Commerce, Science and Management Studies, Kolar, organised a skill development workshop on Investment Analysis and Management for the teaching faculty. 75 lecturers teaching in first grade colleges and postgraduate classes participated in it.

Rajeshkumar V., lecturer from Bengaluru, was the resource person. SDC Educational Trust president Usha Gangadhar inaugurated the programme. K.S. Shilaja, S. Muralidhar, K. Pushpalatha, Narasimhaiah, and V. Shankar spoke.

Elocution contest: An elocution competition on the subject ‘Gandhi kanda Bharata’ was conducted at the Government First Grade College, Vemagal, to mark Martyr’s Day on January 30. Ashok A. and Muniraju N. bagged the first and second prizes respectively, and Kishor R. and Arunkumar shared the third prize.
