Australian delegation meets TN Higher Education Minister

A four-member Australian business delegation, which called on Tamil Nadu Higher Education Minister K Ponmudi today and discussed strengthening ties in the higher education sector, said steps have been taken to ensure full security for Indian students.

During the meeting, the delegation, led by South Australian’s special envoy to India Brain Hayes and Penny Gale, GM, Business SA, discussed higher education in Australia and how students, especially from Tamil Nadu, could pursue their study there, an official press release here said.

Following the letter from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh regarding security of Indian students studying in Australia, the delegation also assured that steps had been taken to ensure full security to Indian students, the release said.

Other delegation members, including Marissa Fawcett, International business co-ordinator, Business SA, and A.K. Tareen, Senior Trade Commissioner to India, Government of South Australia, were also present, the release added.
