The University of Georgia, USA and SRM University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen student mobility programmes, teaching and learning methodologies. The MoU was signed by SRM University acting vice chancellor and pro vice chancellor, T.P. Ganesan, and University of Georgia vice provost for international education, Kavita Pandit.

Professor Pandit was accompanied by ten students and six faculty members, who will be spending 10 days at the university to learn about the challenges India is facing in environmental engineering and to draw lessons from the approaches being adopted to contain them.

Students of both institutions worked together as part of the experiential learning model. The students made visits to the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board, GMR Power Corporation and Koyambedu Vegetable Market. Visits are also lined to sites facing challenges of environmental degradation in Chennai, Coimbatore and Karur.
