The auditorium of Moovarasampet Government Higher Secondary School was inaugurated on June 6 by the Lions District 324 A6 Governor D. Sridharan. During his speech Mr. Sridharan said, “There is no difference between the quality of education offered by private and Government or Panchayat schools due to the recently introduced Samacheer Kalvi system in our State. It is the lack of infrastructure that makes parents feel insecure about admitting their wards in Government schools.

Role of NGOs

Though the Government is trying its best, NGOs should come forward to provide good ambience for the children studying in Government schools.”

President of Lions Club of Moovarasampet, G. Thirumalai, explained about the plan and execution of the project, which costs Rs. 5 lakhs.

Moovarasampet Panchayat Vice President, D.S. Bhakthavatsalam, who is also one of the major contributors for the construction, thanked the entire Lions fraternity for their noble act.

Headmaster of the school, P. Ravikumar, during his acceptance address assured that after gaining 81 per cent of pass percentage this year, students will work hard to get more marks in the coming years. Past District Governor J.S. Vijayakumar, incoming District Leaders R. Ponraj Ashok, P. Elangovan and D. Thulasingam felicitated the club leaders.
