Playback singer pats students

A shower of music lashed East Tambaram on the occasion of the musical night and the 10th anniversary of Sa Ri Ga Ma Pa Dha Nie School of Music and certificate and awards distribution function on Saturday last. The function was held at Meenakshi Mahal on June 16. Students performed on various instruments from basic to grade 8 level. Playback singer B.S. Sasirekha, who was the chief guest, lauded the talent of children and also handed over prizes and certificates to them.

Doshi Anand and Jemima Sushan were the top scorers and passed with distinction in theory and piano, whose performances enthralled the audience. Ms. Sasirekha also sang a few yesteryear songs. Students of the music school also performed the song ‘Heal the World’ in memory of pop legend Michael Jackson.
