The graduating students of Fashion design of NIFT, Chennai, showcased their design collection through the fashion show – Fashionova 2012 - on May 19 at Hotel Le Royal Meridien.
The collections highlighted the creative ideas of the students who underwent an extensive rigour of design development, constantly mentored by industry stalwarts.
Each ensemble was designed and constructed by the students.
Best design award
Awards for the best design, most creative and innovative design, best use of traditional silks in contemporary styling, best garment construction and best academic performance were given during the event.
Prof. Dr. Mannar Jawahar, Vice Chancellor, Anna University, who was the chief guest, presented the awards and praised the faculty and students of the fashion design department of NIFT.
Dr. Vijay Pingale, Managing Director, Co-optex, was also present at the award ceremony.
