Requests for a farm fresh vegetable shop and an EB bill payment office at Ayanavaram were among the requests made to Villivakkam MLA J C D Prabhakar at a grievance meet held recently at Soundara Pandiya Higher Secondary School, Ayanavaram.
Ward councillors, officials from Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board, Chennai Corporation, Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, representatives from Residents’ Welfare Associations, Civic Exnora attended the meet held for the residents of Wards 96 and Ward 97.
K. Ramadoss, president (North Chennai District), Exnora, Ayanavaram, appealed to the MLA to start a farm fresh vegetable shop at Ayanavaram. He was given a positive reply by the MLA.
The meeting saw many residents complain about erratic power supply.
The MLA said, “To ease the problem of erratic power supply in Ayanavaram, a new substation is being constructed at the cost of Rs. 25 crore in a land belonging to the Co-operative Milk supply Union on Guruvappa Maistry street.
A building is being constructed on Pachaikal Veerasami Street to house a ration shop at a cost of Rs. 20 lakh.
A new taluk office is coming up at a cost of Rs.2.20 crore in Ayanavaram. Mini-bus services will be operated connecting Ayanavaram Road and Raji Naicken Street and interior roads like P E Koil Street and Vellala Street in Ayanavaram.
