It has been three years since an electricity post had been installed to replace a 10-year old corroded one in Kapaleeshwar Nagar in Neelankarai.
But till now, the connection has not been shifted to the new post and the old corroded post continues to be in use.
According to Hemamalini Kolhapurkar, a resident, “The EB post is in front of my house and we have given several representations to the authorities to have the dilapidated post removed, but nothing has been done yet. Often, cattle could be found under the post and whenever there is heavy rain accompanied by strong winds, we fear the post could fall.”
Another resident Mohammed Hussain says, “It needs to be removed at the earliest. We should not wait until an untoward incident.” Pointing to another corroded EB post, he said though it has been removed, it still lies on the roadside.
