With many restaurants and food outlets having come up on it, Thiru Vi Ka High Road, near Luz Corner in Mylapore has gone through a great transformation.

Not all the restaurants have survived. Orchard is one of those that have. This modest 16-year-old restaurant at Luz Corner started out with selling fresh juices and snacks, but now they have added pizzas sandwiches and other quick bites to the menu.

A foodie himself, 49-year-old S. Srihari, started the restaurant out of sheer passion for food. “I am basically a mechanical engineer and for a long time, I was planning to start a business linked to food. A big food lover, I wanted to offer something which was not just yummy but also healthy,” he says.

They have some loyal customers who drop by regularly to have some healthy juices.

“We cater to all those who want their juices and food healthy. Yes, there is competition, but our food is our main strength. Our prices are reasonable and one does not have to spend more than Rs. 150 on food and drink,” he says.

Apart from a variety of pizzas, burgers and sandwiches, their long list of juices and shakes is something to look forward for. Some of their juices include Golden Sunset, Heart Throb, Bye Bye Doctor (Thick apple juice) and Mango Banana Smoothie.
