Inspired by Kotturpuram Tree Park, residents of Ramakrishna Nagar in Chitlapakkam have raised a similar park in their neighbourhood.

A few years ago, the space earmarked for a park in Ramakrishna Nagar was barren. Today, with tender trees shooting towards the skies, the space has a dash of colour.

A characteristic feature of the Kotturpuram Tree Park is that it is a community initiative by Nizhal, a non-governmental organisation working towards conservation of trees.
